PENTECOSTALS; question re: speaking in tongues?

Receiving the holy gosth is something pretty amazing,i came from a catholic church and they never enevn bealeved you could get it, when i start going to a Pentecostal church i was kinda shocked but i felt at home. One of the first thing that interested me was speaking in tongues. I wanted to be filled with the holy ghost so one day i made my way up to the altar in tears and began to speak in other tongues but afterwards(like few months after) i never spoke in another language again until i ask god that iu wanted to really bad, it is pretty amazing because now when i pray i can kinda control its a great weapon against the ennemy.
