What should my mate do .....?

stacey likes this boy called tom and she seemed so sure that he liked her to since he looked and smiled and his mates would look at her and he said to her once infront of all his mates i think ur really nice and before his asked her what her name was andd when she told him hes said y ....then some of stacey's mates dropped hints to tom's mates by walking past them and saying tom's name and stacey's name and can't believe she likes him and that and they look and seemed to smile...then she walked past his mates while he was there..and one of tom's mates had a go at stacey saying your stalking tom and you got a problem with him but swearing one of stacey's friends told her that tom looked confused when his mate was having a go at her but then after couldn't see tom's face coz he went up the stairs...then on the same day staceys other friends was walking home he looked and smiled at her...what does it mean? does he like her or not because she is so confused...please help
