What can you tell me about Kingdom Hearts III?

I've seen an article about Sora and the gang joining forces with Mario of 'Super Mario Bros.'. Recently, though, there have been other reports on different KH games-none of them standing up for the PS2 or PS3 systems. Is there even going to be a KH 3, or has it been scrapped?
