How to write a formal art critique on black and white photographs?

Check out some of the Time Life photography books in the library. Those are written in the style that addresses technical aspects as well as including numerous pages of art jargon, some of it quite pretentious and over the top. If you look at those books and then use that writing style and jargon to critique your photos it may give the teacher exactly what she's looking for.
