Wedding dress alterations?

Please please can somebody help me - I need to get my wedding dress taken up in the next 4 weeks - I really need someone that can recommend where I can go to have my dress adjusted as it's a bit long. Obviously the person needs to have a good quality of work as it's v. expensive and I need to feel they can be trusted. It would be helpful if you can suggest someone in the northeast of england - please help - I'm desperate !!
